COLGATE COMEDY HOUR, THE: THE DEAN MARTIN & JERRY
LEWIS COMPANY {KITTY KALLEN, JACK CASSIDY} {EXCERPTS} (TV)

Summary

Excerpts from one in this series of comedy/variety programs with rotating hosts. This program is hosted by the comedy team of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. First, Martin and Lewis entertain the undertakers at the Morticians' Jamboree of 1950. Then, Martin sings "The Glory of Love." Afterwards, The Skylarks perform a song and dance number entitled "Millie the Fillie." Next, Kitty Kallen sings "I Can't Give You Anything But Love, Baby" and "Please Take Me Home." Following her performance, Martin and Lewis appear in a sketch in which Lewis portrays a cranky baby and Martin plays the boyfriend of his babysitter. Lewis also portrays the baby's father which enables this sketch to have a surprise ending. Lewis reveals the secret of how the band gets on stage for musical numbers. Then, Martin performs "Be Honest with Me." Next, Lewis plays the drums while Martin sings "San Fernando Valley." Due to Lewis's horsing around, Martin becomes frustrated with his partner and yells at him. In retaliation, Lewis decides to get even with Martin, who performs "Singin' in the Rain." Martin does not take the retaliation lightly and decides to fight back. Includes commercials and promos.
