ALL MY CHILDREN {ZACH GRAYSON IS MURDERED} (TV)
Summary
One in this daytime serial about the lives and loves of the residents of Pine Valley, Pennsylvania. In this episode, Erica Kane suffers through the aftermath of the shooting death of her fiancŽ, Mike Roy; and con artist Zach Grayson is stabbed to death. Plot developments include the following: Brooke English tells Phoebe Tyler Wallingford that Mike died saving her and Mark and vows to exact revenge on the crooked judge responsible; Phoebe tries to discourage Brooke from moving in with Mark Dalton; a distraught Erica receives Mike's belongings at the hospital and is comforted by her mother Mona and brother Mark; Dr. Joseph Martin and Daisy Cortlandt find that Nina has left her hospital room; half-crazed with rage, Nina drives towards Zach Grayson's house prepared to kill him; Myra Sloane tells daughter Daisy that Palmer left the house in a rage, ready to kill Zach -- who is blackmailing the Cortlandts with pornographic photos of Nina - - and adds that she sent her husband Jasper to follow Palmer to make sure he does nothing rash; while driving, Nina flashes back to an ugly confrontation in which Cliff's sister Linda Warner tells her that she took the photos of her unconscious sister-in-law, after she and Zach drugged Nina, stripped her, and posed her with him; Mona drops Erica off at home alone, where Erica sobs uncontrollably; Phoebe visits the Cortlandt house and Palmer arrives home in an agitated state; Daisy realizes that Nina took her car to leave the hospital and borrows Dr. Martin's car, heading for Grayson's house; Palmer, in no mood to chat with Phoebe, asks her to leave and later tells Myra he didn't deliver the blackmail payoff money to Grayson, thinking it best to wait a day -- much to Myra's distress; Daisy arrives at Grayson's and sees Nina leave the house and drive away; Erica tells Mark that while looking through Mike's book "Life in the Lamasery," she learned that he wished to have his ashes spread in a special place in Tibet; Erica asks Mark to join her on a journey to Tibet to put Mike to rest; Nina arrives home in a highly agitated state and asks Cliff if he has seen the photos; Myra's husband Jasper arrives back at the Cortlandt estate, says he lost Palmer on the road, and also seems quite agitated; an angry Cliff tells Nina he saw the pictures and is being blackmailed by Zach; Cliff says he went to Grayson's tonight, saw Nina leaving, assumed they were having an affair, and consequently decided not to deliver the money to Zach; Nina begs Cliff to believe that Linda and Zach set her up and that she went to his house with Zach's murder in mind, but changed her mind and left; Daisy enters Zach's house; Brooke tells Mark that when he gets back from Tibet, they'll marry; Phoebe offers Erica her heartfelt consolation and recalls how Mike brought the two friends back together; Andrew Preston arrives home and asks Palmer where his mother Cynthia is, appearing quite anxious about her whereabouts; and, back at the Grayson house, Ross Chandler finds Daisy kneeling over the dead body of Zach -- clutching a bloody knife in her hand.
