WHO CARES? {CANADIAN FRENCH} (TV)

Summary

This program presents the New York City Ballet's performance of Balanchine's "Who Cares?," a piece choreographed to sixteen songs composed by George Gershwin and orchestrated by Hershey Kay. Before the performance, the program presents a short film about the nomadic lifestyle lived by Balanchine and his New York City Ballet dancers. The piece includes a peek inside Balanchine's New York City apartment; behind-the-scenes footage of the dancers traveling and relaxing; and the company's hidden "treasure," the costumer Karinska, filmed in her workshop among her troop of workers and the company's warehouse-sized wardrobe. After the film, the program presents Patricia McBride, Marnee Morris, Karin von Aroldingen, and Jean-Pierre Bonnefous in Balanchine's "Who Cares?"

(This program is in Canadian French.)
