AIRWOLF: SHADOW OF THE HAWKE {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
The premiere of this action/adventure series about Stringfellow Hawke, a helicopter pilot who conducts top-secret missions for the U.S. government in the high-tech helicopter Airwolf. In this episode, Dr. Moffet steals the technologically-endowed whirlybird from The Firm, the secret government agency for whom he manufactured it, and flees to Lybia. Archangel, the mysterious head of The Firm, and Gabrielle, a Firm employee, hire Stringfellow Hawke to retrieve the valuable flying machine. Hawke agrees to go, on the condition that the government locate his brother, who was missing in action in Vietnam. Hawke recruits his lifelong friend, the gruff-but-lovable Dominic, to help him repossess the chopper. Meanwhile, Gabrielle manages to get close to the reclusive Hawke, whose friends have a way of dying violently. Upon the team's arrival in Libya, Gabrielle seems destined for a similar fate when she is caught by Dr. Moffet, who is notorious for the way he slowly kills women by torturing them in the desert. Meanwhile, Hawke and Dominic find and retrieve Airwolf, which they use in a successful attempt to rescue Gabrielle. When the group returns home, Hawke and Dominic hide Airwolf in the desert, but when Archangel can only produce a few documents on the pilot's missing brother, Hawke refuses to return the chopper to the government. Archangel offers Hawke protection from the U.S. government if Hawke agrees to fly Airwolf for their organization until his brother is found. Commercials deleted.
