MOONLIGHTING: THE STRAIGHT POOP (TV)

Summary

One in this comedic private detective series about David Addison and Maddie Hayes of the Blue Moon Detective Agency. In this episode, which mostly consists of clips from previous episodes, columnist Rona Barrett attempts to discover why no new episode of "Moonlighting" has been created. First, she interviews Maddie Hayes, who recalls meeting David for the first time; the first time she realized that the two of them did not belong in business together; the ways in which David has embarrassed her; David's unprofessional manners in the office; the many times she and David have discussed his attitude; David's relationship with his brother; her discussions with David about sex; and her tender moments with David. Next, Barrett interviews Miss Dipesto, who recalls various times that David and Maddie have slammed their doors and yelled at the same time; her dispute with Mr. Addison; how she sometimes makes Miss Hayes upset; and how she knows that Maddie and David care for her. Thirdly, Viola speaks to Barrett about the strangeness of the office. Finally, Barrett interviews David, who recalls a variety of childish arguments he and Maddie have had; instances in which Maddie has displayed her temper; why he and Maddie have stayed together; the times that they think alike; the times Maddie has made David feel stupid; what he has taught Maddie; the other women in his life; the other men in Maddie's life; and the wild times he and Maddie have had together. In addition, cameo appearances are made by "Remington Steele," who comments on the idea of going in to business with Maddie, and Peter Bogdanovich, who talks about dating Maddie and a model from Memphis. After all of the discussions, Barrett gets Maddie and David in a room together where the two apologize to one another and to the viewing audience. The program concludes with outtakes from the series. Includes commercials, promos, and an ABC News Brief. This program is closed-captioned.
