One in this occasional series of interview specials, hosted by Barbara Walters. On this program, Walter's annual pre-Oscar show, Walters's guests are previous and current Oscar nominees Glenn Close, Opray Winfrey, and Cher. The first guest, Close, discusses the following topics, among others: various costumes she has kept from her past movie roles; getting her first Academy Award nomination for "The World According to Garp"; whether she can imagine being like the obsessed woman she portrayed in "Fatal Attraction"; being voted one of the top ten box office draws for the year; what she was like as a little girl; her singing voice and whether it's true she's recording an album; her partner John Starke and their soon-to-be-born child; why she hasn't married Starke; and who the essence of Glenn Close is. The second guest, Oprah Winfrey, discusses the following topics, among others: being raped as a youth; how that affected her future sex life; where her confidence comes from; her thoughts on child-rearing; her partner Stedman Graham; wanting to be like Walters as a youth; whether she's hurt when people claim she's catering to a "white" audience; and African-Americans that have inspired her over the years. The last guest, Cher, discusses the following topics, among others: that she does her own grocery shopping; whether she was hurt when she didn't get an Academy Award nomination for "Mask"; what she will say if she wins an Oscar; her appearance with ex-husband Sonny Bono on "Late Night with David Letterman"; current boyfriend Rob Camilletti, a 24-year-old Long Island bartender and former bagel maker; whether she wants to have another child; being dyslexic; whether she cares about other people's opinions of her; what frightens her personally and professionally; and why she is rebellious.
