REMINGTON STEELE: STEELE TRYING (TV)
Summary
One in this detective series about private investigator Laura Holt, whose Remington Steele Detective Agency fails until she pairs up with a suave stranger claims to be the fictitious Remington Steele. In this episode, Steele hires a woman, Bertha, to send the associates at the Steele agency on a bogus case so he may spend a romantic weekend in San Francisco with Laura. However, the fictitious case becomes a reality when a man winds up with a knife in his back. Moreover, Bertha's brother Seymour is a retired trapman, who had installed hidden safes for clients who do not want to put their valuables in a bank. Upon the death of any of his clients, Seymour has the right to open the safe and keep a percentage of what is hidden. Unfortunately, members of the San Francisco police force do not want the safe of a recently departed prominent judge to be opened and will stop at nothing to prevent the contents of the safe from being found. Though Remington would rather spend the weekend romancing Laura, he realizes that he and his beloved partner must solve the case before returning to Los Angeles. Commercials deleted.
