DALLAS: A HOUSE DIVIDED {THIRD SEASON FINALE: WHO SHOT J.R.?} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of night-time dramas about the wealthy Ewing family of Dallas, Texas. In this episode, the season finale, J.R. secretly sells his family's share of Asian oil leases without consulting his associates, wiping them out of business; his wife, Sue Ellen, fears that he will send her back to the sanitarium after another one of her bouts with alcoholism; Kristin threatens to ruin J.R. by exposing his secret sale of shares, but he finds out and frames her for prostitution; Cliff Barnes has possession of an old contract that legally allows him to profit from a Ewing oil field, but he makes the mistake of telling J.R., who closes down the field; Lucy is having an affair with her married teacher; and Bobby rebels against his family's unethical ways and leaves Southfork with Pam. The episode concludes with a cliffhanger: while working late in his office, J.R. is shot by an unknown assailant. Commercials deleted.
