
LONG AGO AND FAR AWAY: ABEL'S ISLAND (TV)
Summary
One in this series of children's programs. In this program, host James Earl Jones introduces the animated film, "Abel's Island," an adaptation of the book by William Steig. Abel is a mouse who becomes stranded on an island after going on a picnic with his wife, Amanda. A storm hurls Abel onto a deserted island, and he must find food and shelter to survive. Abel spends a year on the island and makes many interesting discoveries about himself. When the river's level is finally shallow enough for him to leave, Abel attempts to get home to Amanda.
