RAMONA: NEW PAJAMAS (TV)

Summary

One in this ten-part children's series about the life of Ramona Quimby, a rambunctious child with a flair for causing mishaps. In this episode, Ramona receives brand new pajamas after her mother realizes that her regular ones are too small. Ramona is excited that she has new pajamas and not hand-me-downs from her sister, Beezus. The next day, Ramona and her class take a trip to the local fire station, and afterwards she cannot seem to get firefighting out of her mind. Before school, she decides to behave like a firefighter and dress quickly, so she pulls her school clothes over her pajamas. That day at school, she feels increasingly hot and her teacher, Mrs. Whaley, becomes concerned that Ramona may be ill. After a while, Ramona tells her teacher the truth, and Mrs. Whaley suggests that Ramona go to the bathroom and take off the pajamas. Ramona hesitates since she is not wearing any underwear, but her teacher promises not to tell anyone about the situation, including Ramona's parents. The next day, however, Mrs. Whaley calls her mother, and Ramona is certain that her teacher has broken her promise. In response, Ramona decides to run away and her mother pretends to help her pack.
