Summary
One in this dramatic anthology series. Based on the story by Laurie Colwin entitled "An Old-Fashioned Story," this program is a romantic comedy about a rich, young woman, Elizabeth (Hope), whose parents encourage her to have a romantic relationship with Nelson (Bruce), a young man she has known and disliked since she was a child. When she meets up with Nelson after not having seen him for years, she is amazed by his transformation into a handsome man. Yet, determined not to marry him, she convinces him to assist her in an elaborate deception to get her parents to stop bothering her. (This program received the Silver Award at the Chicago International Film Festival, the Gold Medal at the Houston International Film Festival, and was a finalist at the Women in Film Festival.)
