AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE: THE THIN BLUE LINE (TV)
Summary
Filmmaker Errol Morris's innovative, award-winning documentary played a major role in the release of Texas Death Row inmate Randall Dale Adams. Through dramatic re-enactments and interviews with parties involved with the case -- the 1976 murder of a Dallas police officer -- Morris re-examines the evidence, creates doubt about the facts in the case, and uncovers details about the police using their influence to unjustly convict Adams. Also included is a segment in which Bill Moyers interviews Morris about the then-current conviction of Adams as well as the production stages of this documentary.
