HALLMARK HALL OF FAME: PACK OF LIES (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramas presented by Hallmark. This suspense drama is set in a 1961 London suburb, where housewife Barbara Jackson enjoys a quiet life with her husband, Bob, and their teenage daughter, Julie. Out of the blue, an intelligence agent named Stewart calls on them for help in apprehending a suspicious man seen in their neighborhood. After convincing the Jacksons to cooperate, Stewart sets up surveillance in their bedroom to watch the house across the street, which belongs to Peter and Helen Schaefer, the Jacksons' dearest friends. Powell, the espionage suspect whom Stewart is watching, has been seen visiting the Schaefers every weekend and he is believed to be secretly working with them. The surveillance continues for several weeks, and Barbara's emotional equilibrium crumbles as she struggles to maintain a loyal friendship with Helen while the devastating truth threatens to tear them apart. Commercials deleted. This program is closed-captioned.
