MASTERPIECE THEATRE: SUMMER'S LEASE {EPISODE 2}: WHERE THE WATER GOES (TV)
Summary
One in this ongoing series of dramas presented under the title of "Masterpiece Theatre," hosted by Alistair Cooke. In part two of this four-part series, the Pargeter family attends a party held by an old girlfriend of Molly's father. At the party, Molly talks with her next door neighbor, Baronessa Dulcibene, who reveals that Molly's mysterious landlord's first name begins with the ominous letter "B," and Molly's daughters meet the landlord's daughter, Chrissie, who seems quite secretive herself. The next day, the villa loses all of its water and Molly finds that she must pay a great deal to the water board to get her services restored. She tells the Baroness that she intends to find the absent landlord and have him deduct the sum from her rent money. Soon after, the Baroness makes a secret phone call. That evening, Molly decides to open the letter delivered for her landlord's wife and decides that the ambiguous writing may mean that "B" is in trouble. The following day, Molly discovers a postcard written by her husband, Hugh, to his mistress. She later confronts him with the information.
