MASTERPIECE THEATRE: SUMMER'S LEASE {EPISODE 3}: A BATTLEFIELD (TV)
Summary
One in this ongoing series of dramas presented under the title of "Masterpiece Theatre," hosted by Alistair Cooke. In part three of this four-part series, Molly travels in to town alone and meets a young couple from England who have discovered that they have no water at their villa. Molly brings them to the water board of Italy where she sees the initials "C.I.U." on a form. Recognizing the initials from the secret letter she found at the villa, Molly realizes that Mrs. Kettering, the landlord's wife, must be involved with the water scandal in Italy. After having dinner with Nancy, her father's former girlfriend whom he wishes to marry, she realizes there are more people involved in the scandal than she originally thought. Meanwhile, Ken Corduroy, a friend of the deceased caretaker, sends Molly a warning to mind her own business or else she may be harmed. In addition, Chrissie Kettering and her friends decide to stay overnight at the Pargeters' villa.
