SANTA'S FIRST CHRISTMAS (TV)
Summary
This animated Christmas program, produced in Wales and Germany, features the story of how Santa Claus began his tradition of delivering Christmas gifts. In this story, narrated in English, Santa manages to make Christmas a joyous holiday worldwide through ingenuity and a series of fortunate accidents. Even as a boy, the young Claus has a compulsion to create and give gifts. But spreading holiday warmth all over the globe seems possible with the help of industrious elves: although they normally disdain humans, especially kids, the elves agree to help Santa make toys for children after he saves the life of an elf named Holly. At a loss for a way to distribute the presents, however, Santa luckily stumbles upon a lost, flying reindeer named Romuald who can transport the jolly young man to every empty Christmas stocking. Although the first flight is difficult, Santa manages to spread his generosity to children all over the world.
