LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN {ROSIE O'DONNELL, LOU REED, NEIL PATRICK HARRIS} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of late-night talk shows hosted by David Letterman. This program features rotund comedienne Rosie O'Donnell, rock legend Lou Reed, and actor Neil Patrick Harris. In his opening monologue, Letterman discusses the snowstorms along the East Coast; "in and out lists" published in magazines; condom promotional advertisements; the trial of alleged parricides Eric and Lyle Menendez; and a South American man who ate an entire pig. Other highlights include a skit entitled "Can a guy in a bear suit walk into a strip club?"; a Top Ten List of "words that sound great when spoken by James Earl Jones," read by the actor himself; and Letterman singing his version of "Memory" from the Broadway musical "Cats." In guest appearances, O'Donnell sings bits of show tunes, including a rap version of part of "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" from "Grease"; Reed performs "Sweet Jane"; and Harris talks about life after his hit television series "Doogie Howser, M.D." Commercials deleted.
