NYPD BLUE: ZEPPO MARKS BROTHERS (TV)
Summary
One in this series of rough-edged police dramas about the cases and private lives of the detectives and station house personnel of a Manhattan precinct. In this episode, a material witness named Nicky, who's ready to testify in a murder case, is killed; and his girlfriend, Kimmy, knows who shot him. Lieutenant Fancy informs the squad that they will be required to work a civic event dressed in their blue uniforms. Meanwhile, Kimmy is afraid to tell Detectives Sipowicz and Kelly what she knows about Nicky's murder because she doesn't want to end up dead herself. Laura tells Kelly she has the feeling someone has been stalking her and her new boyfriend, Dr. Danny Schrager. Sipowicz decides to talk to a bartender whose bar Nicky and Kimmy were at before the shooting occurred, and the information from the bartender and from Kimmy positively identifies Nicky's killer. Then Sipowicz and Kelly decide to send the shooter to Rikers Island with a hidden microphone in order to make sure they are right about the case. Later, Kelly learns that a contract on Laura's life was also issued by the two prisoners awaiting trial who Nicky was going to testify against. Meanwhile, throughout the episode, Sipowicz, who is self-conscious about his weight gain, is uncomfortable in his uniform because it fits him like a glove. Commercials deleted.
