CAROL & COMPANY: DRIVING MISS CRAZY (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series in which Carol Burnett takes on a different persona in skits each week. In this episode, Burnett takes questions from the audience before setting up the premise of the evening's show. Burnett plays Dorothy Tibbet, still recovering from a recent trip to an insane asylum. After receiving notification of a registered letter at the post office, Dorothy wants to go retrieve it. Her husband Marvin feels like his "cuckoo" wife might not be able to handle the stress of such a crowded place. Dorothy, however, feels that she is now perfectly able to cope with pressure so long as she sings cheerful songs. Once at the post office, Dorothy's wits are tested when she is unable to retrieve her letter due to her driver's license being expired. Forced to go to the D.M.V., Dorothy finds her anxiety level pushed to the breaking point by aloof employees, language barriers, esoteric rules, a malfunctioning sprinkler system, and a mime-obsessed test grader. Commercials deleted.
