Summary
One in this comedy series starring Garry Shandling as Larry Sanders, a late-night talk show host. In this episode, Larry and Arthur meet with a pair of network executives in order to discuss who will follow Larry in a new 12:30 a.m. talk show. Larry -- who will be acting as executive producer -- shocks the smug execs by telling them he wants comedian Bobcat Goldthwait to host the program. Word of the new program quickly spreads around town and Larry is inundated with messages from eager prospective hosts, and has run-ins with hopefuls Kevin Nealon and Steven Wright. Larry informs them all that the network wants Goldthwait. Meanwhile, Hank is out for blood because his fan club newsletter went out with innapropriate references to male and female sex organs added into one of his nostalgic tales of youth. Later, Larry talks with David Letterman backstage during an awards show and learns that Letterman wants Tom Snyder to host the 12:30 show after his own program; and Goldthwait makes a most animated pitch to the network. Also includes appearances by Richard Lewis and Tom Snyder.
