WHAT'S MY LINE? {MYSTERY GUESTS: GEORGE BURNS AND GRACIE ALLEN} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of panel game shows in which celebrity panelists engage in witty banter as they try to guess the unusual occupations of the guests. On this program, host John Daly presides over a panel that consists of substitute panelist Margaret Truman, entertainer Steve Allen, actress Arlene Francis, and publisher Bennett Cerf. Employing only yes-or-no questions, they try to discover the vocations of Al Buta, a "manhole designer" from Hollywood, Florida, and Brigitte Friang, a French war correspondent in Indo-China. After donning blindfolds, the panelists then attempt to guess the identities of this week's mystery guests -- entertainers George Burns and Gracie Allen. Because of the familiarity of their voices, Daly asks them to knock once on the table for "no"; twice, for "yes." Finally, the panelists question Jack Dunham, a hotel house detective from New York City. Includes commercials.
