WHAT'S MY LINE? {MYSTERY GUESTS: MIKE NICHOLS AND ELAINE MAY} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of panel game shows in which celebrity panelists engage in witty banter as they try to guess the unusual occupations of the guests. On this program, host John Daly presides over a panel which consists of actress Arlene Francis, host of the British "What's My Line?" Eamonn Andrews, journalist Dorothy Kilgallen, and publisher Bennett Cerf. Employing only yes-or-no questions, they try to discover the vocations of Arthur Mercante from Queens, New York, (the panelists are aware that Mercante is a boxing referee and coach, but must figure out his day job as a beer salesman), and O.T. Gillett, a cowboy from Flagstaff, Arizona. After donning blindfolds, the panelists then attempt to guess the identity of this week's mystery guests -- the comedy team of Mike Nichols and Elaine May. Finally, the panelists question Mitch Shapiro, a man from Dunkirk, New York, who puts sticks in popsicles. Includes commercials.
