MARTIN: BOYS ARE US (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about Martin Payne, a sexist, wise-cracking radio talk-show host for WZUP in Detroit, Michigan, which is based on a character Martin Lawrence created in his stand-up comedy routine. In this episode, the guys are planning on watching a movie called "Soul Island" starring a character known as King Beef. Gina and Pam are not interested in the movie and decide to play a game in which everyone's embarrassing secrets could be revealed. During the game, Gina remembers she had borrowed money from Cole and pays him back. Martin is perturbed over the loan and wonders why she hadn't just asked him for the money. When Pam tells Martin that Gina is now making more money than he is, Martin cannot accept that concept. He is worried that word of this will get out and his radio image will be shattered. The next day during his show all the calls coming in from listeners concern money issues. Evidently Cole told his mother and she proceeded to tell everyone else. Martin knows what he must do to reverse this image he has been branded with. He wants to impress Gina by treating her to an extravagant dinner, but that just makes Gina angry with him. To solve this image problem, Gina figures out a way to prove that Martin really does make more money than she does. Commercials deleted.
