DIAGNOSIS MURDER: MURDER BY THE BUSLOAD (TV)
Summary
One in this series of mystery programs about Dr. Mark Sloan, a physician at Community General Hospital who enjoys solving murder cases with the help of his son, Steve, a homicide detective. In this episode, Dr. Sloan's shift is about to end when the hospital is flooded with victims of a bus crash, one of whom is dead on arrival. Dr. Sloan notices that the deceased man, Fred Talisker, has a wound on the back of his head, while the other victims have wounds only on the front of their bodies. Upon performing an autopsy, Dr. Amanda Bentley discovers that the man died from a wound caused by a blow to the back of the head. Sloan realizes that the death was not an accident, but rather, a crime of opportunity that was probably committed by someone on the bus. From an array of facts, Dr. Sloan deduces that Fred Talisker, an insurance company representative, was wanted by the police for committing a series of rapes. Among Dr. Sloan's suspects are: a mysterious woman discovered at the crash scene, whom no other passenger remembers; a man with a grudge against Talisker's company; and a college student whose friend was raped by the deceased. However, just when Dr. Sloan thinks he has found all possible suspects, he finds that the person one suspects least may have the greatest motive and opportunity to commit the crime. Meanwhile, Steve is frustrated because the bus accident caused him to miss part of the Lakers' basketball game. In addition, Del Harris makes a cameo appearance at the end of the program. Commercials deleted.
