LOVING {THE ALDENS' RECEPTION} {SERIES PREMIERE} (TV)

Summary

The premiere of this daytime serial about the residents of the town of Corinth. In this episode, anchorwoman Merrill Vochek finishes her interview with Roger Forbes, who has just become president of Alden University. Afterwards, Roger asks why she has been avoiding him, and as they prepare to embrace, Roger's daughter, Lorna, enters the room and Merrill leaves in a hurry. Back at the Donovan house, Merrill tries to convince Douglas that they shouldn't go the Aldens' mansion for a reception, but he knows that failure to attend would be disrespectful, since he now works for Roger. Meanwhile, Lorna continues bickering with her brother, Jack, and wonders why he returned to Alden University since he had a scholarship offer elsewhere. The following events then occur at the party: Garth Slater wonders why Merrill didn't slander Roger the way she did a few years ago; Jack meets Lily Slater and wonders why she avoids him; Douglas and Merrill take a walk around the mansion and Roger joins them; and, when Douglas leaves to get them beverages, Roger tells Merrill he loves her, and the two embrace in a passionate kiss, which Lorna spies from a distance. Includes commercials, promos, and a public service announcement.
