Summary
One in this series of spontaneous comedy talk shows hosted by Bill Maher. Maher presides over a no-holds-barred forum whose members come from the worlds of politics, journalism, and entertainment in order to discuss current eventsÑno matter how controversial. In this program, Maher presents a monologue about current events in which he comments on the following topics: capital punishment in Texas; Take Your Daughter to Work Day; James Earl Ray's death; tobacco legislation; and Dolly, the cloned sheep. Next, Maher talks with director/actor Rob Reiner, singer Randy Travis, comedian Bobcat Goldthwait, and Jennifer Grossman of the Cato Institute. The guests discuss the following topics, among others: capital punishment, including minors awaiting capital punishment; spanking children; and a new Delaware law that requires sex offenders to carry a marked driver's license. Includes commercials, promos, and public service announcements. This program is closed-captioned.
