SEINFELD: THE YADA YADA (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series set in New York City in which comedian Jerry Seinfeld plays himself. Humorous situations in his personal life are interspersed with brief stand-up comedy routines. In this episode, George discovers that his girlfriend uses the phrase "yada, yada, yada" to tell a story and leave out the details. Meanwhile, Jerry's dentist, Tim Whatley, has converted to Judaism and begins telling Jewish jokes, much to Jerry's dismay. Also, Kramer and Mickey double-date but cannot decide how they should pair off. An adoption counselor interviews Elaine, who has agreed to be a character witness for her friends Beth and Arnie so that they can adopt a child. But Elaine reveals that Arnie has a temper, thus ruining the couple's chances, and then devises an ill-conceived plan to help Kramer and Mickey with their dating situation. George decides to adopt the useful phrase "yada, yada, yada," but then has second thoughts about this form of verbal shorthand when his girlfriend uses it to describe an encounter with her ex-boyfriend. And as Jerry talks with a fellow patient of Tim's named Father Curtis, Jerry makes a joke about dentists that deeply offends the priest. Ultimately, Elaine makes an offer that the adoption counselor cannot refuse, and Kramer accuses Jerry of being an "anti-dentite." Commercials deleted.
