FAMOUS FRED {ENGLISH VERSION} (TV)
Summary
This Oscar-nominated, animated children's short from England tells the story of Fred the cat and his rise to fame as a rock star. The story begins right after Fred's death. The family who owned Fred have just buried him, and the two children Nick and Sophie are very sad. That night, Sophie wakes up and sees a strange sight outside her window. When she and Nick sneak outside to find out what is going on, they find dozens of cats wearing dress clothes, gathered for Fred's funeral. The children are surprised because they thought Fred was an ordinary cat. But their pet guinea pig Kenneth explains why Fred was so famous. After Kenneth talks about Fred's wonderful singing career, the children invite all the cats to their house to listen to a tape of Fred's music. The parents sleep on, while the animals have a great celebration; so only the children and the animals know how special Fred was.
