JEFFERSONS, THE: A NEW GIRL IN TOWN (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedy programs -- a spin-off of "All in the Family" -- about George Jefferson, an opinionated successful black entrepreneur, his sensible wife Louise ("Weezie"), their adult son Lionel, and their assorted neighbors in a high-rise apartment building on Manhattan's Upper East Side. In this episode, Florence's eighteen-year-old cousin, Rhonda, comes to visit from Georgia. Her combination of enthusiasm and naivete gets her into all kinds of trouble in New York City: she befriends a burned-out druggie, gets a job mud wrestling, and winds up in a riot. All of the commotion leads to problems between the two cousins until they arrive at an important realization. Includes commercials.
(The Museum's copy of this program was telecast on KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.)
Cataloging of this program has been made possible by Senator Roy M. Goodman, 1998/1999.
