DREW CAREY SHOW, THE: DREW'S HOLIDAY PUNCH (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedies starring stand-up comedian Drew Carey as a single guy who attempts to juggle his romantic endeavors and his menial job at a Cleveland department store, while still maintaining his sense of humor. This holiday episode stars Shirley Jones and Danny Bonaduce of "The Partridge Family" as mother and son. In this episode, Drew is nervous about introducing his girlfriend, Celia, to anybody because she is sixty-two years old. As Drew and Celia plan on spending a quiet evening at home, Drew receives a surprise visit from his parents. Celia is confused about why Drew is keeping their relationship a secret, and he tries to explain that his parents are rather conservative. But just as he is making his case, Drew's cross-dressing brother arrives. Meanwhile, Mimi employs Oswald, Lewis, and Kate to sell Christmas trees door-to-door and the group demonstrates a poor knack for sales. And when Drew meets Celia's red-headed son, Chip, he punches Drew out. Realizing that he must tell his parents about Celia, Drew decides to hold a Christmas dinner so that everybody can co-mingle comfortably -- or so he hopes. Includes commercials, promos, and public service announcements. This program is closed-captioned.
