Summary

The first of two episodes on this tape. One in this satirical soap opera series about Mary Hartman, a housewife from Fernwood, Ohio. In this episode, Ms. Finken, a social worker, interviews the Haggerses concerning their proposed adoption of the Wild Child, and tells them that they may keep him only if they send him to public school. Texas gets Tom drunk and torments him about how vulnerable Mary is now that he's in jail. Consequently, when Doctor Williams, a psychiatrist, interviews Tom, he appears uncontrollably paranoid. Meanwhile, Cathy and the Haggerses take Mary out for a drink to distract her from her worries over Tom, and she comes face to face with Dennis for the first time since he left Fernwood. Commercials deleted.
