STRANGERS WITH CANDY: THE LAST TEMPTATION OF BLANK {SERIES FINALE} (TV)
Summary
The final episode in this comedy series that follows the exploits of Jerri Blank, a forty-six-year-old high-school freshman and self-described former "user, boozer, and loser." In this episode, Fran, the coolest girl in school, tells a friend that she could make anyone cool -- and the other girl challenges her to make good on this boast with Jerri. Two members of the board of education tell Principal Blackman that the school isn't making enough money, and Blackman fears that the board may close the school. Fran approaches Jerri in the hall and asks her to hang out. They go to Jerri's house, where Fran counsels Jerri to rid herself of all of her valued possessions and ditch her friends. At school, Mr. Jellineck and Mr. Noblet learn that a classroom is being bulldozed and discover a design plan for a strip mall. Fran works diligently on Jerri's makeover and makes Jerri look like a new person. The cool kids and Jerri's old friends then do battle over Jerri. Fran reminds Jerri that she can be "uncool in Loserland" or follow Fran into "Frantardica," but Jerri follows her heart and rejoins her old friends. Fran is inspired by Jerri's choice and eventually admits that Jerri is cooler than she. She decides to go live in the gutter for thirty-two years to emulate Jerri. Principal Blackman bursts in on their conversation, screaming that the school is being turned into a strip mall. Everyone takes the opportunity to trash what is left of Flatpoint High. Finally, Mr. Noblet, Mr. Jellineck, Jerri, and Principal Blackman are left to contemplate the gravity of what they've done. Jerri suggests that the others join her in running from the law and living on the streets. Commercials deleted.
