RHODA: JOHNNY'S SOLO FLIGHT (TV)

Summary

One in this series of comedies about Rhoda Morgenstern, a strong-willed woman trying to cope with the problems of career, romance, and family in Manhattan in the 1970s. In this episode, Rhoda, Brenda, and Gary go to watch Johnny Venture perform on a night in which Skip, a record producer, is in the audience. Backstage after the show, Johnny bemoans the fact that Skip just signed his two back-up singers to a record contract as opposed to him. Rhoda tells him that he doesn't need back-up singers to succeed and urges Johnny to go on stage the next day solo. Johnny tanks as a soloist and, upset, goes missing on a bender in Manhattan. Commercials deleted.
