Summary
One in this comedy series about the changes in the life of successful stand-up comedian Bernie Mac after he agrees to take in his drug-addled sister's three children. The program punctuates the narrative with confessional sequences in which characters address the camera, and subtitles occasionally appear onscreen providing additional information about the unfolding drama. This episode opens with Bernie explaining how he doesn't need to put up with the early-morning pangs of sending the kids off to school; he's rich enough to send them to boarding school. The day begins with Wanda having to shake Bernie awake, leaving him thirty minutes to get the kids out the door. First he rouses Bryana, who is convinced she is a "princess" and wants to wear the outfit to match. Next, Bernie struggles with Jordan who feigns sickness to get out of his first day at a Catholic school run by the menacing Father Cronin. Finally, Bernie tries to sweet talk Vanessa out the bathroom she has locked herself into, nervously primping herself for the chance of running into a boy she likes. With much struggle -- and ruining his two favorite silk shirts in the process -- Bernie finally gets the kids to each of their destinations. Happy for just a second, he then laments that he has to go through the whole ordeal again the next day. Commercials deleted. This program is closed-captioned.
