Summary

This program concerns June 8, 1924, when a British exploration team comprised of scientists and mountain climbers attempted to scale Mt. Everest in the Himalayas. George Mallory and Andrew Irvine, the two men chosen to climb to the summit of the tallest mountain on earth, were lost in the snowdrifts and never found. The expedition returned unsuccessful.
