NAKED CIVIL SERVANT, THE (TV)
Summary
This biographical drama concerns the life of Quentin Crisp, a British gay man. This dramatization of Crisp's autobiography covers over fifty years in his life and focuses on incidents that reflect changes in society's view of homosexuality. Highlights include the following events: Crisp's experiments with transvestism; Crisp becomes a "naked civil servant," also known as an artist's model; Crisp, living alone, relects on the problems of his friends: a young art student becomes a nun and a Polish man goes mad and hangs himself. As the program concludes, Crisp recalls people who were kind to him and marvels at the progressive contemporary era.
(This program was telecast on the Thames network in England on Dec. 17, 1975.)
