PHIL SILVERS SHOW, THE {YOU'LL NEVER GET RICH}: BILKO RETIRES FROM GAMBLING (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedies starring Phil Silvers as Sgt. Ernie Bilko, a fast-talking confidence man stationed at Fort Baxter in Kansas. In this episode, temperate Colonel Hall attempts to curtail Bilko's gambling by stealthily infiltrating a master card manipulator into the camp's weekly poker game to ensure the sergeant's defeat. When Bilko grows moribund following his unprecendented loss to Sergeant Ridzik, however, Fort Baxter's morale nosedives without his mischievous spirit. In order to improve the mood at Fort Baxter, Hall finds himself in the unlikley position of begging a reluctant Bilko to return to gambling. Commercials deleted.
