Summary
This one-hour documentary, produced by WCBS-TV in New York City, examines the lives of homeless people living in welfare hotels. Carol Martin reports on the bureaucracy families go through to move into a welfare hotel. WCBS cameras go undercover to report on the living conditions in welfare hotels. Martin focuses on the treatment of children, interviewing parents and teachers about the lasting effects homelessness has on school-age children. Representatives from the city's Housing Authority defend the condition of the welfare hotels. Commercials deleted.
