MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E., THE {THE MAN FROM UNCLE}: THE HER MASTER'S VOICE AFFAIR (TV)
Summary
One in this series of tongue-in-cheek spy dramas about superagents Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin of the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement. In this episode, Solo and Kuryakin are trying to protect Dr. Matsu, a Japanese diplomat, from the agents of THRUSH who want to find out everything about his top secret documents. His daughter Miki, who has seen the documents, is brainwashed by THRUSH to repeat the information upon command. Solo goes to the girl's school, which houses many VIPs' daughters, to investigate, while Illya becomes the personal tutor and bodyguard for Miki. A major donor to the school, THRUSH agent Jason Sutro gets cooperation from the headmistress, Hester Partridge, to brainwash the student body. Whenever Brahms's lullaby is played, the girls will do exactly what Partridge tells them, especially reveal classified government information. The assistant dean, Verity Burgoyne, is also under the trance and tries to kill Solo after hearing the music. Meanwhile, Illya is attacked by THRUSH agents during a delivery of the tape in order to test it on Miki. Partridge calls Miki at home and plays the piece over the phone with instructions telling her what she must do. Verity finds the original recording of the piece and gives it to Solo so he can study the way it works. Upon being captured by Sutro, Solo gives up the tape and watches as Miki begins to reveal the information from the documents. In a clever escape, Solo is pursued by the student body after Partridge plays the tape over the PA system. Meanwhile, Illya is on the way with Waverly to save Solo and capture Sutro before he can get the information he wants. Commercials deleted.
