Summary

The first season ends with a spectacular from Hollywood, one of the Telephone Hour's most acclaimed programs, a television adaptation of Gilbert and Sullivan's classic comic opera "The Mikado," starring Groucho Marx. "The Mikado" was first produced at the Savoy Theatre approximately 75 years earlier. Producer Martyn Green serves as host and introduces the principals in starring roles. The program was originally broadcast in color, but is only available on black-and-white kinescope. Includes commercials.
