One in this series of science fiction programs about the Robinsons, a family of space colonists from Earth who have become hopelessly "lost in space." In this episode, after narrowly escaping the gravitational pull of a rogue comet, the Jupiter II gets sucked into a supernova and docks with a large stationary spacecraft. In need of propulsion parts to fix their damaged ship, John and Don board the large craft and discover thousands of men who have been cryogenically imprisoned. They unfreeze one of the inmates, who attacks them immediately, but they are rescued by a robotic guard who refreezes the prisoner. The duo follow the guard back to "the warden" -- a giant computer -- and discover that the warden's clock is broken, and that the inmates will probably be stuck in their chilly prison for all eternity. Meanwhile, back on the Jupiter II, the robot senses "a kindred spirit" on the large craft, so Will, the robot, and a reluctant Dr. Smith decide to board the craft to alert John and Don. The trio find the frozen inmates, and Dr. Smith, who merely wishes to enjoy a game of "cat's cradle," unfreezes a felon named Phanzig, who forces Smith to take his place. But after Phanzig leaves, Smith panics and leaves his post, sending the robotic guard on a search for the escaped prisoner. John and Don hear the alarms and rush to gather the necessary equipment, but the guard freezes Don and takes him before "the warden" for interrogation. Back in the inmates' quarters, Dr. Smith runs into Phanzig again and agrees to help him use the Jupiter II as an escape vessel, so they release the other prisoners and lead the angry mob to "the warden," where they run into John, Don, Will, and the robot. Luckily, John comes up with a plan to suppress the rebellion. Commercials deleted.
