FIVE STAR THEATRE: CHARLIE CHAN: BEHIND THAT CURTAIN (RADIO)

Summary

One in this series of mystery stories. This is the last episode in the Earl Derr Biggers mystery story "Behind That Curtain" in which Charlie Chan solves the problems which have beset him over many weeks. The story opens with Charlie, Barry Kirk, and Captain Flannery waiting at the checkroom of the Cosmopolitan Club in San Francisco. Chan has promised that the murderer of Sir Frederick Bruce will appear there. While Colonel Beatham makes a call, Eric Durand, who has been searching for his runaway wife Eve for eight years, approaches the checkroom and retrieves a briefcase. Chan stops him and orders Flannery to arrest him, claiming that the briefcase is Sir Frederick's. In a gathering of those involved in the mystery, Chan produces Eve Durand, who exposes her husbands sordid past. Chan then explains all aspects of the mystery to those gathered and all watch as the murderer pays for his crime by his own hand.
