ROCKY AND HIS FRIENDS: RUE BRITANNIA (TV)
Summary
One in this animated series about two friends -- a
gormless moose named Bullwinkle and an intelligent
flying squirrel named Rocky -- and their frequent
encounters with their archenemies, Soviet spies Boris
Badenov and Natasha Fatale. In this episode, Bullwinkle
is abducted and flown to an undisclosed location because
of the valuable weather-detecting bunion on his foot.
Rocky goes to Washington, D.C., and recruits the help of
Captain Peter Peachfuzz, who is chief weather
forecaster. As they fly in search of Bullwinkle, the
national air defense chases them, and they escape only
to find themselves staring straight into another
dangerous situation. Next, "Fractured Fairy Tales"
tells the story of Dick Whittington, who travels to
London to dig up the town's cobblestones, believing that
they are made of gold. When this scheme fails, he is
hired by Mr. Fitzwarren. As his patron leaves for a
crazy overseas mission, Dick gives him a clever cat who
saves the day and secures Fitzwarren a fortune in gold,
which in turn makes its way to Dick, along with a
beautiful wife. In the final segment, an episode of
"Peabody's Improbable History," Sherman and Mr. Peabody
visit the year 1532 and get involved in Francisco
Pizarro's conquest of the Incas. Includes commercials
and promos.
(Series title varies; this series was also telecast
under the title "The Bullwinkle Show" from 1961 to 1964
on NBC, and from 1964 to 1973 on ABC.)
