
JOHNNY STACCATO: THE MASK OF JASON (TV)
Summary
One in this series of private detective dramas about Johnny Staccato, a jazz pianist who supplements his income by working as a private detective in New York City, often meeting clients and jamming with other musicians at Waldo's, a Greenwich Village club. In this episode, Johnny takes an unusual assignment: he agrees to be the bodyguard for Miss Temple City, also known as Miss Bonny Howard (Mary Tyler Moore), a young beauty pageant finalist who is being stalked by a terribly disfigured man. The beautiful Miss Howard must wait two days for the competition to end, and, eager to avoid adverse publicity that could spoil her chances of winning, she pleads with Johnny to keep the frightening man away from her. Unused to waiting around in his position as bodyguard, Johnny sets out to learn the identity of the mysterious, disfigured man and his reasons for pursuing the pageant finalist. Includes commercials.
