HAPPY DAYS: ALLISON (TV)

Summary

One in the series of comedies about life in the 1950s. In this episode, Howard is upset at a bill from the electric company that claims he owes more than $4,000. Richie and Fonz go down to the electric company to try and straighten things out. There, they meet attractive computer operator Allison, who Fonz struggles to seduce. Then, Richie realizes that Allison is deaf. Thus, Richie pens a note for Fonz to give Allison. However, while Richie is working on the note, Allison begins flirting with Fonz and he scores a date with her. Soon enough, Fonz has become interested enough in Allison that he wishes to learn sign language. Richie helps Fonz learn how to communicate with Allison. Later, Fonz shows his newfound signing skills in wishing Allison a happy birthday. Meanwhile, at the birthday party, Ralph is upset to learn that Potsie and Chachi are wearing some of his clothes. Later, Richie offers Fonz some suggestions, claiming he should not lead on the sweet Allison. Fonz is mad at Richie for butting in, but claims that he has no interest in leaving Allison. Richie is elated to learn that Fonz is in love. The next day, Howard awakens to find the electricity shut off. Fonz and Allison go to the electric company, where she tries to help the Cunninghams out. There, Fonz spills his heart to Allison but she tells Fonz that she loves another man, co-worker Doug. Doug then shows up and explains to Fonz that Allison's dates with Fonz helped Allison realize that Doug wasn't dating her out of pity. Doug says that he and Allison are now engaged. Fonz is incredulous but tries to accept things. He wishes Allison a nice life but remains a bit heartbroken, though he puts on a tough-guy act for Richie. Commercials deleted.
