ORSON WELLES'S ALMANAC (RADIO)

Summary

One in this series of variety shows starring Orson Welles. Broadcast from the Los Angeles Port of Embarcation, with an audience of U.S. Army personnel. Welles introduces the show and explains that Lana Turner is replacing Bela Lugosi, who is unable to appear as scheduled. After performing a comic monologue about army life, Welles stars in an extended comedy sketch in which he portrays a soldier who is so in love with Turner that she magically appears before him. That no one else can see her causes the soldier much trouble until he meets a sympathetic officer. Closing credits deleted. Includes commercials for Mobil gas and oil.
