MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE: THE MIND OF STEFAN MIKLOS (TV)

Summary

One in this series of adventure dramas about the exploits of the Impossible Missions Force. In this episode, the IMF team carries out an elaborate plan in order to trick the ingenious enemy agent Stefan Miklos into believing that some false information given to double agent Townsend is actually false. However, the IMF team knows of Miklos's utter brilliance as well as another agent, Simpson, who is trying to frame Townsend. Phelps's plan is to make sure that Miklos uncovers the clues and, in the process, tricks himself. The plan is set up so that Miklos will think Simpson is Rollin, and Simpson will think Rollin is Miklos. Rollin, posing as Miklos, meets Simpson to find out whether his information about Townsend is credible. Before the real Miklos arrives, Rollin tells Simpson that he is under surveillance and must leave before the operation is foiled. Miklos meets Rollin, posing as Simpson, and goes through the same process to check out Townsend's information. While all this is taking place, the rest of the team is listening in on Townsend's apartment when Miklos arrives there. He finds a picture of Cinnamon, posing as mystery woman Sandra Marshall, in Townsend's safe. Miklos then goes to Cinnamon's apartment and finds a piece of a burnt matchbook and two unidentified keys. Cinnamon leads Miklos to the airport, where Townsend arrives after he is told by Simpson to leave the country. Miklos is led to believe that Townsend was ready to defect and was, in fact, a traitor. However, Miklos figures out the complicated plan and Phelps worries that Townsend will be killed before the truth about the false information is known. Commercials deleted.
