HALLMARK HALL OF FAME: THE JOKE AND THE VALLEY (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramatic specials presented by Hallmark. This drama examines the seriousness of justice through the adventures of young Davis Tucker, a wanderer who stumbles upon a dead body in a frontier farming community. When the people of the valley take the death of the unpopular man as a joke, Davis plans to teach them about the importance of the law. He argues that they should judge guilt or innocence rather than the popularity of the victim. His attempts to teach them that justice is no laughing matter puts Davis's own life at peril. Includes commercials for Hallmark products. (This is a black-and-white copy of a color telecast.)

("Hallmark Hall of Fame" aired on NBC from 1952 to 1978; network affiliation varies after 1978.)
