One in this series of dramatic specials presented by Hallmark. This play by Paddy Chayefsky depicts the Old Testament story of Gideon. Although Gideon is considered to be the lowliest of his clan, God chooses him to lead the Israelites to victory in a battle against the Midianites' superior army; the Lord has delivered the Israelites to the Midianites because they have betrayed Him by practicing idolatry. He decides to give the Israelites another chance with Gideon as their unlikely general. Gideon, however, must challenge not only the Midianites but also his own ego when his grateful people prefer to reward him rather than God for their victory. Commercials deleted.
