HALLMARK HALL OF FAME: A DOLL'S HOUSE (TV)

Summary

One in this series of dramatic specials presented by Hallmark. This program concerns a sheltered wife, Nora, who realizes that she has allowed her husband and father to treat her like a child. She has been content raising her children and living for the dreams of her husband, Torvald, but a reunion with her poor but independent friend Kristine begins to awaken Nora to her lack of individuality and independence. When Torvald is promoted to bank manager, a secret, questionable connection that Nora has had with a predatory banker named Krogstad threatens her husband's new standing. Although Nora had made the secret pact with Krogstad out of love for Torvald, her husband ridicules her for her one independent act. Nora realizes that she cannot love Torvald or herself until she takes dramatic action. Includes commercials.

The first program, "Dr. Serocold," was televised in January 1952 under the title "Hallmark Television Theatre." This series also ran under the title "Hallmark Summer Theatre" in July and August 1952.)
